The Flooded Grave

I choose View from an apartment for a second photograph that I will be comparing to The Flooded Grave because I feel these two pictures has same feeling even it looks different.
When I see the photograph of The Flood Grave, it was not a tragic of grave. I don't know maybe I have already known it is not real while I am seeing the picture. That's why I think it looks great than look like tragic. Who can think the ocean in the grave? Everybody might think the grave is just grave which is in dead body and feel scary or sad for soul of them. However Jeff wall created ocean in the grave and express how it looks beautiful even though the sky looks groom and the pieces of stone make it look sadder. But inside of the grave has a color that is red and yellow which is very vivid color. I think he represent life in this photograph even the space is for dead people.
The photograph of View from an Apartment is story about two young women who is living in the apartment. They look relax and comfortable in the picture and many things are everywhere in the room. For example cups and dishes on the table look like they've just finished. So When I see this photography it's just about a life people are living. And also I can see big window which is showing outside view and it looks calm. So I feel inside is more dynamic than outside.
So I feel these two pictures show about a life. The Flooded Grave is showing the life from the grave even it is taken in the cemetery which is for represent death and View from an apartment is showing the life from inside of view not an outside view from the window.

final project

My theme of final project is a dancing city. When I see something from window on the bus I feel it's something different outside. Everything's moving and passing very quickly in a seond. Especially in the night it becomes more pretty, lights of car and buildings make the city to dance. So I decided to take pictures the night of city which looks dancing by light. This picture is the example that I took this week. I like this one very much. The outside car is illuminated and lights are made lines which looks beautiful.

I like his photographs very much. I didn't know about him before, but when I saw his art work in class it was like amaizing. Every his pictures has a barrier(?) and he saw something through the barrier. It doesn't seem bother but brings new vision. Sometimes the barrier looks like new shape and it's like just part of the whole picture. This photograph also look very beautiful. Even it's rainning and window looks unclear,it makes outside view pretty. The blurred color,rain drop make this photograph look beautifully.

experience as the photographer

I did not have a chance to be a photographer because I was busy as an art director and my partner needed a photographer to take his, so he got another photograper instead of me. So unfortunately I couldn't do the role of photographer but I want to talk about what it looked like when I watched my photographer. I worked with Gretchen who was my photographer and I had to tell her what my concept was and what I wanted as an art director. She undestood my concept very well and took pohtographs nicely. Being a photographer did not look easy because the photographer need a good imagination to think about the concept and a understaning to follow direction of art director. But she was a very good photograper and asked me when she took pictures if it looked good or not until I was satisfied with. So I appreciate to her as a photographer of mine and if I have a cahnce to be a photographer I want to do my best as a photograper.

TECHNOLOGY IDEA

My idea is that I want to take a photography which is black and white. I don't know maybe black and white look doesn't like technology, but I want try it look like technology. So I am going to use light which is focus on the object like ipod and sellphone.
I am still thinking.

HAPPINESS 101 IDEA

My idea about this project is like this picture-even the face doesn't look like happy but it's supposed to. When I read the article of HAPPINESS 101, I felt students attended the class happily and class was made of students participation. So I decide to write down the class name on the black board and set up the student in front of the black board because I want to show like this is the class but I don't know yet I have to more think about it.

Manhattan

This picture is taken on the train which is brooklyn bound train from manhattan. It was a mistake that I take the train because I was supposed to get off somewhere in manhattan. Anyway I enjoyed the mistake moment and took pictures of manhattan. The light from outside was strong and it made a shadow to inside lady. So I think the composition of inside and outside is nice.

It is a very amaizing picture. How the little woman can show her big energy against the guys.That's why the photographer got an awards. The photographer caught the moment that the woman is showing her power and he is nicely present in his angle.

THE VIEW

I took this one recently. It's the view from my aprtment balcony. I am living in a 20 stories apartment and my house is in 13th floor. It's a very tall aprtment in my village and gives a great view. Sometimes when I see outside from my room at night, it's really pretty. Every lights from buildings, cars and sky are lovely. But it's different taste when I see it in the morning. People are moving, birds are singing... I really love it.

I am surprised when I see his pictures. Each of pictures has a very unique and beautiful shape when I see his. But it's not a new shape or new things which someone made it. Karl Blossfeldt has a special view about the real objects and it came out with unique shape from his view. I never thought somethings can be presented differently depends on the views and now I realized it can be.

STREET

I took this picture on the train. I was passing by astoria, queens to go to manhattan and looking outside of window. The street looked calm and colors of cars and buildings looked pretty. So I turned on my camera and took it quickly. It was hard to take the picture because the train was moving but the picture came out nicely.

I like the way KARSH use the light. It's very interesting. He used the rim light in the front and the people's siluet is very nicely presented. And I can see people who are working in the back by the light and I see them clearly.

The moment

I got this picture last summer in Coney Island.
I was very happy when I took this picture because I was waiting until the little boy run to opposit direction of his father. Then I just shoot it and it came out pretty good. So this is the one of pictures that I like.
